Welcome to LocalVoice. By creating an account or posting, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain English and governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Your account
- You must be 16 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for what you post from your account.
- Keep your password private. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
What you can post
Posts should be about your local community — issues, news, praise, ideas. See our Community Guidelines for the full list.
What you can't post
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or doxxing.
- Illegal content, including content that breaches the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.
- Defamatory statements presented as fact.
- Spam, scams, or commercial advertising without permission.
Moderation
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms. Repeat or serious breaches may be reported to the appropriate New Zealand authority.
Content ownership
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant LocalVoice a non-exclusive licence to display, store, and distribute it as part of the service.
Service availability
LocalVoice is provided "as is". We aim for high availability but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, LocalVoice is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where they apply.
