Tap Join Now, enter an email, password and display name, then drop a pin to set your Home Base. We snap your pin to a suburb — your exact address is never stored.
Explore your patch — or all of NZ
Your feed shows posts from your home suburb by default. Widen the radius with a slider, or switch to Roaming to see what's happening anywhere in New Zealand on a colour-coded map.
Post something in seconds
Tap New Post (or the floating + on mobile). Pick a category, add a title, drop a pin on the incident location, attach a photo or two. That pin is public — separate from your private home base.
React, reply, get notified
React with an emoji, leave a threaded reply, or save a post for later. The bell tells you the moment someone responds. Your profile tracks your posts and impact — a gentle nudge, never a leaderboard.
Designed to feel effortless
Right now LocalVoice is completely free. As we grow, we're planning a very small membership — around $2 a month, 50cents a week — to keep the lights on without ads or data selling. Anyone who signs up before then gets plenty of notice and a generous free run-in. Either way, you keep your account and your posts.
