Te Tiriti o Waitangi
We acknowledge te Tiriti o Waitangi as the founding document of Aotearoa New Zealand. We aim to be a respectful platform for tangata whenua and tauiwi alike, and we welcome te reo Māori across the site.
New Zealand laws we follow
- Privacy Act 2020 — your personal information is handled under the 13 Information Privacy Principles.
- Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 — we remove content that meets the threshold of serious emotional harm and cooperate with Netsafe.
- Human Rights Act 1993 — we don't tolerate discrimination on any prohibited ground.
- Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 & Fair Trading Act 1986 — our service is provided with reasonable care and skill, and described honestly.
- Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993 — objectionable material is removed and reported where required.
- Copyright Act 1994 — please only upload images and content you have rights to.
- Defamation Act 1992 — please stick to facts you can stand behind.

Data sovereignty
We use trusted cloud infrastructure and prefer regions close to New Zealand for performance. Where data must cross borders, it is protected by contractual safeguards equivalent to the Privacy Act 2020.
